What is Wi-Fi HaLow

Wi-Fi HaLow is Wi-Fi, redesigned for devices at distance. It runs on a lower frequency than other Wi-Fi, which allows it to travel farther and pass through walls, floors, and obstacles, so one connection covers far more ground.

As devices get smarter, with AI built in at the edge, they demand more from the networks that connect them. Wi-Fi HaLow delivers the speed, reliability, and capacity to deploy Edge AI at scale.

Up to 10× the range of conventional Wi-Fi, so a single access point can cover a whole property or site.
Long range
A lower frequency signal that carries through walls, floors, and obstacles that block conventional Wi-Fi.
Signal penetration
The highest data rates of any self-deployed long-range wireless network.
High speed at range
Optimized for energy efficiency with numerous power-saving features.
Low power
SUPPORTING BENEFITS
Morse Micro's Wi-Fi HaLow has been tested and validated for deployments of hundreds of devices to one access point.
Hundreds of devices on one network
Long-range self-deployable Native IP protocol, removing the need for separate proprietary translation gateways.
Genuine Wi-Fi with Native IP
Built with the latest WPA3 Wi-Fi security framework.
Wi-Fi-grade security
Greater coverage per access point reduces the need for mesh nodes, extenders, and complex cabling.
Lower cost to deploy
Standards-based Wi-Fi with no carrier subscription, no per-device data plans, and no platform fees for device connectivity.
No recurring fees
Wi-Fi CERTIFIED HaLow products work across vendors, with no single-supplier lock-in.
Certified interoperability
TECHNOLOGY

Why Wi-Fi HaLow beats the alternatives

All wireless technologies have limitations. Each one has strengths, but also a mix of limitations: range, data, power, cost, or complexity. Wi-Fi HaLow combines the strengths, delivering a complete wireless solution for a broad range of real-world applications.

Applications

Where Wi-Fi HaLow works

Wi-Fi HaLow connects the devices conventional Wi-Fi cannot reach, and that low-power radios cannot serve with enough data. The same technology works across the home, industry, agriculture, cities, and infrastructure.

Who we are

Why Morse Micro

Morse Micro is a fabless semiconductor company that helped define Wi-Fi HaLow and continues to advance it.

The company was founded by former Broadcom engineers involved in the design of the Wi-Fi radios used in many of the world's smartphones, who saw the need for long-range, low-power Wi-Fi. Morse Micro has developed the world's fastest, lowest-power, and longest-reaching Wi-Fi HaLow chips.

01
Product

The Morse Micro MM8108 delivers the fastest Wi-Fi HaLow data rates and the industry's best transmit-power efficiency, in the smallest chip and module footprint.

02
Industry firsts

Morse Micro delivered the first 8 megahertz (MHz)
Wi-Fi CERTIFIED HaLow, the fastest long-range Wi-Fi (256 QAM), with leading Wi-Fi transmit power efficiency.

03
Independent recognition

A Consumer Electronics Show (CES) Innovation Award, the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) Best Wi-Fi for Innovation award, and an Internet of Things (IoT) Emerging Technology Award.

04
Proven in the field

Tested in Wireless Broadband Alliance field trials, with detailed field-trial data available on request.

BUILT AND BACKED

Built and backed by the
Wi-Fi we all know and trust

Wi-Fi HaLow is not a proprietary radio. It is genuine, standards-based Wi-Fi, defined and certified by the same bodies behind every generation of Wi-Fi.

Defined by the IEEE

Wi-Fi HaLow is based on the 802.11ah standard, defined by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the same body behind every generation of Wi-Fi.

Certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance

Wi-Fi CERTIFIED HaLow is certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance, the global industry association that promotes interoperability, security, and consistent performance across Wi-Fi products.

Tested by Morse Micro

As a Wi-Fi Alliance approved Wi-Fi HaLow testbed vendor, Morse Micro helps companies test, validate and refine their Wi-Fi HaLow products in preparation for certification.
